"The children are painting the world. Islamic countries" in ISESCO Headquarter

Under high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI Fifth Islamic Conference of Ministers in Charge of Childhood kicks off at ISESCO headquarters, Rabat. Today morning at the headquarters of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), the Fifth Islamic Conference of Ministers in Charge of Childhood kicked off under the theme: "Towards a Safe Childhood". 

The Conference is organized by ISESCO in cooperation with the Ministry of Family, Solidarity, Equality and Social Development in the Kingdom of Morocco, and coordination with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco, on 21-22 February 2018.

At the outset of the opening session, the Minister of State in Charge of Human Rights of the Kingdom of Morocco, Mr. Mustapha Ramid, read out the message of His majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco addressed to the Conference. Afterwards, addresses on the occasion were delivered by ISESCO Director General, Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri. At the close of the opening session, an art exhibition was presented under the theme "The children are painting the world. Islamic countries".

The Conference agenda includes presenting a main document on the Forms of Violence against Children; discussing  the Draft  Document  on  Child  Labour  in  the  Muslim  World  and Countermeasures,  the Draft Document on Integrated Public Policy for Child Protection in the Kingdom of Morocco (2015-2025),  the Draft  General  Framework  for  Protecting  Muslim  World  Children from Violence, and the Draft Rules of Procedure of the Islamic Conference of Ministers in Charge of Childhood; and creating  the  Consultative  Council  for  Childhood  Promotion  in the Islamic World and Election of its Members.

The agenda also features presenting the Report of the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) on the State of Children in OIC Member States, and Statements and Reports of Heads of Delegation of Participating Member States and Regional and International Organizations. At its close, the Conference will adopt the Draft Rabat Declaration.
